Message Board Chi Sao Quick Quiz

Rene Ritchie, February 5th, 2008

Quick quiz, hotshots. You’ve got someone attempting to twist-quote you on the internet:

But then again, didn’t you say:
Reasonable person + internet (access + anonymity) = @$$hole.

Yet, if you (obviously) posted under your full, real name, does the quoter’s inclusion of (+ anonymity) then highlight a complete misunderstanding on their part of math, or just poor reading comprehension? What do you say, hotshots?

Of course, those of us with elementary math and reading skills know that, if someone posts under their full, real name (as the authors here do, and as I do on KFO) then there is no (+ anonymity) but rather a (- accountability) which changes the equation considerably (as speaking for ourselves, rather than mysterious sources under veiled screen names, tends to do). It becomes:

Reasonable person + internet (access - accountability) = reasonable person with internet access.

So is that the answer?

No.

Turns out it was a trick question.

In message board Chi Sao, as we already discussed, when someone has no structure, when there is no truth, fact, or first hand knowledge behind their argument, they will try to change the topic or go into full personal attack mode.

That’s when, we you know what you’re doing, you can smile, relax into your posture, and slap away the clumsy flails with a little humor and a lot of compassion.

What ever happened to Savi’s post on KFO?

Maybe he confronted whomever told him that nonsense, they recanted and got straight with him, and he deleted it?

Hopefully he’ll clarify at some point, but that’s the unfortunate consequence of not only listening to, but publicly repeating misinformation (especially when trying to do so in face of people who were actually there…)

Well, from that group, much of the information they have on me is misinformation. I’m not surprised.

When arguments become generational, nobody wins.

Also, dealing with the great-grand-students (who weren’t there) allows too much broken telephone.

We all live in the NOW. Not the past, not the future.

Things that happened in the past, they’re already done. I have my own reasons for problems in the past, and I’m sure if people really looked into what happened instead of taking it second hand or from a rumor mill, we could see things from a diffrent viewpopint.

I don’t like to discuss things about certain people, especially if they make a living from WCK. But if anyone would contact me personally to find out what really happened, it would be welcomed.

But of course, this is for people with a rational mind…
